I'm Tung, and I'm born and raised in Cabramatta in Western Sydney. I'm a podcaster and presenter, recently turned wedding MC. I love bringing people together through crowd work, great energy and laughs.
Before I stepped onto the stage as a wedding MC, I have continued to work in IT, while also balancing my passion project The Rice n Mics podcast. I love chatting to people, plus with the addition of the good vibes and energy from a wedding, it's a fantastic combination.
While IT is a broad line of work, specifically I work between a mix of technical work, and stakeholder engagement (a fancy way of saying talking to other teams).
When my good friends Nathan and Annette, were getting married, they pushed me to be their MC. They either saw a lot of potential in me or they wanted to save the money paying for someone. But I like to think it was mainly the first option...
I had a lot of fun running it, with a side of stress not knowing what a wedding MC is actually meant to do, but I suppose it was a trial by fire moment for me.
After that night I received a ton of positive feedback, with a few aunties/uncles appreciating but mostly roasting my slow Vietnamese (I'm working on it, I promise! 😅).
That one night snowballed into starting this venture. I realised how much I love setting the vibe for a room, keeping things fun, and making sure the couple get to enjoy their night.
It started as a favour for some mates, but it completely clicked. That's why I want to step up to the mic, keep the laughs coming, make sure the aunties/uncles are happy, and protect couples from awkward, stiff receptions.
Outside of work I like to film content for my YouTube channels, photography, playing with new tech that's being released (I'm currently tinkering with the Meta glasses), camping and gaming when I get the chance.
